1. Cookies & Similar Technologies
1.1. Sophea Nous uses a small number of first-party cookies and browser storage entries that are needed to run the platform and to remember choices you make in it. We do not use cookies or similar technologies to collect statistics about how you use the platform, to build a profile of you, or to show you targeted content or advertising.
1.2. For the purposes of this policy, browser local storage and session storage entries are treated as “cookies”. We do not use web beacons, pixel tags, device fingerprinting, or any comparable tracking technology.
1.3. Cookies are small text files stored by your browser on your device when you visit the platform. Ours are used to keep you signed in, to route you to your workspace, to secure the authorization of data sources you connect, and to remember your interface preferences.
1.4. First-party cookies: All cookies used on the platform and the public website are placed by Sophea Nous itself.
1.5. Third-party cookies: Cookies placed by a party other than Sophea Nous. The platform and the public website set no third-party cookies and load no third-party analytics, advertising, or social-media scripts.
2. Cookie Categories
2.1. The cookies and storage entries used on the Sophea Nous platform fall into two categories:
- Strictly necessary cookies: Keep you signed in, route your requests to your workspace, and protect the platform and the data-source authorizations you start against misuse, including short-lived cookies that exist only for the duration of such an authorization. The platform cannot work without them, and no consent is required for their use.
- Preference cookies: Remember choices you make in the interface, such as your language, the layout of the sidebar and tables, and onboarding hints you have dismissed. Each one records only that choice. A preference you have saved in your account is mirrored to your browser when you sign in, and where a preference has no value yet the application stores its default for you.
2.2. We use no analytics or statistical cookies and no marketing or notification cookies. Should we ever want to introduce a cookie that requires your consent, we will update this policy and ask for your consent through a dedicated mechanism before that cookie is set.
2.3. Error reporting: To detect and fix technical faults, the application running in your browser sends error reports to our error-monitoring service; the pages of the public website do not. Our servers also record technical faults on their side. These reports describe the fault and the state of the application when it occurred. They set no cookies and are not used to track your activity.
3. Settings and User Control
3.1. No consent banner: Because the platform sets only strictly necessary and preference cookies, there is nothing to opt in to and no consent banner is shown. If that changes, a consent mechanism will be in place before any non-essential cookie is activated.
3.2. In-app controls: Choices held in preference cookies can be changed from the corresponding controls in the application, for example the language selector or the sidebar layout. Dismissed hints and other one-time choices can be cleared by deleting the platform’s cookies and site data in your browser.
3.3. Browser controls: You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in to the platform.
4. Consent
4.1. Strictly necessary cookies and preference cookies set at your request do not require consent under applicable EU and Greek law, and they are the only cookies Sophea Nous uses. No other cookie is activated on the platform or the public website.
5. Updates
5.1. Please make sure to visit this page regularly to receive an update on the cookies we use, in case we add any features or change anything about the way we use cookies.
